Ms. Jill Tucker
I am looking forward to a rewarding and productive semester. While I am your child’s teacher, I am only one part of your child’s academic future. Parent encouragement and involvement along with student cooperation and participation are vital components of educational growth. I encourage you and your child to join me on this academic endeavor. I truly love to teach and strive for all to become life long learners.
I am originally from Detroit, Michigan but have lived in the Atlanta area since 1990. I don't miss the snow! I have a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. After working 8 years as a microbiologist in the medical field and in industry, I decided to try my hand at teaching - turns out this is the work I was meant to do! I received my Teacher Certification from Lenoir-Rhyne University and Gifted Certification from Mercer University. I earned an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Lesley University and have National Board Certification in Science. I have had experience teaching various levels and courses of science from middle school to high school and have been with Fulton County schools since 1991.
While not teaching, you will find me hanging out with my four dogs. They are all rescue poodles and range in age from about 19 to 9. I also like to read, garden, and learn new things. I am also an avid Beatles fan.
I look forward to getting to know you as we go through the semester - please do not hesitate to let me know how I can help you be successful!
